Class 9 and 10 students and teachers attended the two days His Holiness teaching for Tibetan Youth.

To commemorate holy month of Saka Dawa the school holds three day Kagyur reading.

Inter House BasketBall Tournament

The school Basketball tournament was held on month of March. The final match was played on 29th of March 2023.

Inter House Song and Dance Competition

The Inter House Cultural Nite was held on 27th May in school Loter Hall.

Menstrual Hygiene talk

The school guidance and counsellelor organized a talk on Menstrual Hygiene for the girl on 29th May right after the school Morning Assembly.

ENGLISH DAY

English Day was celebrated on 20th September, 2019 aiming to encourage the students to take interest in learning English and to show everyone their ability at English. The day was organized by the English teachers and was supported by the students from class 4 to 10. Various English activities were carried out from 8:45 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The morning program started with the English singing assembly. Students from class 4 to 10 participated in that singing assembly and they sang two songs namely ‘This Is Our World’ and ‘The Earth Is My Home’ with the music and without the music. They sang the songs with full enthusiasm and gusto and the songs echoed the whole school. It was followed by the speeches on the importance of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening by four students.
A book fair was held at the school basketball court A and court B right after the speeches. The students who participated in the book fair dressed themselves as a character from the book they have read and shared about the book. Two live dramas “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “The Little Red Riding Hood” caught everyone’s attention and stole the show at the book fair.
After the recess English Enrichment Fun Activities were played and songs and dances were performed on the stage. Twelve volunteers from each section of the classes from 4 to 10 took part in solving the crossword puzzles, riddles, word search etc. This activity was the highlight of the English Day. After each game, a song and a dance were performed before the audience. The students could showcase their singing and dancing talents and wowed the audience.
The dancing program “Just Dance” was organized in the afternoon. In this program the whole students of class 4 to 7 participated and mesmerized the audience with their dancing steps. All the students and the staff in the auditorium enjoyed the performances which were executed excellently.

Prizes were awarded to the winners for winning the competition such as Calligraphy (senior students) English Handwriting (class 4 students) and Story Board (class 5) and Class Wise English Enrichment Games. The English day ended with a high note. The students were shown an animation movie titled ‘Epic’ at 7:00 p.m. In a nutshell, the students enjoyed English Day thoroughly.

English Extempore

T.C.V.School Chauntra class 9 Extempore was held on 30thAugust 2019.Judges were Mrs. Tenzin Dolma la(Assistant Headmistress) Miss Lhakpa Dolma la and Mrs.Passang Dolma la.In the contest, every students were given 4 min to share their thoughts on the given topics such as


·         My style of being kind to other


·         My golden words and


·         Joy and sorrow go hand in hand etc…


On the whole, the entire student tried their best to deliver their own topic to the audience. Among them the first position was begged by Mr.Tsering Chosphel of class 9-S.  Through this activities student were alerted about many topics and they were able to learn to speak an any topic without preparation.


The program ended with much applause and appreciation.


English Fund-Raising Festival

The first ever English-fund raising festival was held on 16th August,2019. This  program was organized by the Arts Department(Social science and English) under the leadership of Mrs. Tsering Palmo la (English Resource person).
The whole objective of organizing this program is to raise fund for the department to buy any material needed to enhance the teaching.The foremost priority was given to buy Jolly Grammar books for the class V students.During the program,there were many stall prepared like reading corner,books stall,snacks corner,miscellany,men's clothing,kids clothing etc. Clothes were mainly donated by shops in McLeod and Bir. Surely good deeds pay.The beautiful thought behind the program was highly appreciating the festival turn out to be unique and effective at the same time.




TIBETAN DEMOCRACY DAY  

59th Democracy Day was commemorated on 2nd September at T.C.V. Chauntra to pay gratitude to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for bestowing Tibetan people the gift of a democratic system of government. The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

The students from class 6 and above and the staff assembled at Lother Hall  at 9: a.m. The program commenced at 9:10 a.m. with the singing of the Tibetan National Anthem and Mangtsosharshey. It was followed by the introductory speech about the day by Gen Kelsang Gyatso La. Miss Dawa Tsamchoe La read out the speech of Kashag. The school music teacher Gen Tenzin Shenphen La and his team performed some songs on the stage and entertained the audience and enliven the mood and the spirit of the day. The function ended with the word of thanks by the Assistant Headmistress Mrs. Tenzin Dolma La. Finally, Gorshey was performed by the staff and the students at the school basketball court.

STAFF DAY

T.C.V. School Chauntra celebrated Staff Day on 5th September, 2019 with great fun and enthusiasm. This day is actually celebrated as Teacher’s Day all over India to pay tribute to India’s second President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan but it is celebrated as Staff Day in T.C.V. Schools as each and every staff member plays a vital role in molding the students academically and ethically.
The Staff Day program was planned and organized by the school captains and prefects. The morning program commenced at 9:00 a.m after the arrival of the staff. The students wished the staff Happy Staff Day by singing it. Mr. Tenzin Dhondup La delivered the introductory speech on the life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan with the aid of powerpoint presentation. Refreshments were served for the staff while the speech was going on. It was followed by songs and dance performances by the students to express their love, respect and gratitude for the staff. Fun games were arranged for the staff members to entertain them. Delicious and scrumptious lunch was served at 1:00 p.m. and they were prepared solely by the students.
Later on, a football match was played between staff teams at 3:00 p.m. It was followed by the song and dance performances by the students and they entertained the staff thoroughly. The day came to an end with a special dinner for the staff. The students had worked so hard to make and keep their staff happy and entertained throughout  the day. All in all, it was an eventful day which was enjoyed by the staff thoroughly.
