Independence Day

As usual whole India’s celebrating the Independence Day on 15^thAugust, 2019 at the same time Our T.C.V.School Chauntra celebrated this occasion with full enjoyment.  Starting from 9.10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Our school has invited Shri Pankaj Jamwal Ji as a chief guest of this programme.This programmed started with Tibetan and Indian National Anthem with full pride and respect. All the students from class 6-8 recited the poem dedicated to Indian Independence and all the class 9 students sang wonderful patriotic song in the hall. Chief guest gave wonderful speech to the staff and students related on this occasion. This whole programmed was organized by our school Hindi Madam Mrs.Rekha Devi la.

In a nutshell, this programmed went well with full enthusiasm.

Science Day

TCV School Chauntra Organized Science Day on 19^th of August, 2019 on the theme topic “150^th Anniversary of International Year of Periodic Table”. Unlike previous years, Science Department had involved Class 3 and above students to participate in morning assembly programs. There, the program was started with Head of Science Department Mr.Dawa talked on the topic “Science and Buddhism”, followed by Riglam on topic solar system by class 5B and song on  photosynthesis by class 4B students. One of the most interesting programs was every class from 7 and above had participated in the tower building activity, which was part of Marshmallow group activity, where students and concerning class teacher had great fun in making a rigid and stable building.

From 11:30am, the actual Science Day model Exhibition was started and its runs till 4:00pm.

The 1^st position was batched by Mr.Pema Norbu la (Class IX-D) on his topic “No Pollution” as per the environmental awareness. Second position batched by Mr.Kunchok la and Mr.Lobsang Gyalpo la on their topic “Electromagnetic Crane” and “Electromagnetic City”. The junior school top model was batched by class 5D on topics “Greenhouse Effect”.

The new program organized by science department to encourage students in pursuing their interest in science is the “Inter Section Science Olympiad” in evening session. There, the groups participated in Quiz Round, Identification, quick solve and Periodic table round. It’s the Section ‘S’ who won the overall 1^st position.

Overall, it’s been a busy day and program went successful as planned. Since there is not a word to describe it’s as a perfect, we the science department is looking forward for the betterment and improvement of science day in coming years, as well as to bring overall development in science aspect activities in school.

ICT Monitoring visit by personnel from TISS Mumbai

The Department of Education, CTA with the funding support from USAID has implemented pilot project in four schools namely, STS Paonta, THS Rajpur, STS Bylakuppe and TCV School Chauntra in the year 2018. Under this project the above mentioned schools were provided with ICT infrastructure, and 28 teachers from these schools have successfully completed the four months Certificate Course on ICT and Education from TISS Mumbai. As a part of the course, these 28 certificate holders have trained 177 other teachers in ICT and Education expanding the knowledge in wide range.

Thus in order to monitor and review the implementation of ICT project in these four schools, the DoE has arranged a team of personnel from TISS Mumbai to visit the four pilot schools. Hence as per the schedule of DoE, the personnel namely Amina and Sohini ma’am visited our school on 6 August 2019 and stayed in the school for whole day to observe the ongoing implementation of the ICT in school. 

The program was scheduled as follows and went successfully.

1. A brief introduction and meeting with the school Principal.
2. The Focus Group Discussion with the Master trainers and the Outreach teacher
3. Lesson observation of the Outreach teacher Mr. Tenzin Dhondup in the ICT room during the fifth period.
4. Lesson observation of one of the Master trainers. Mr. Tenzin Choejor’s lesson was observed.
5. Interaction with the students by the TISS Mumbai personnel.
6. Feedback from the personnel to the Principal on the whole observation.

CHOKOR DUCHEN Celebration

Traditional texts explain that after the Buddha realized awakening beneath the Bodhi tree at Bodh Gaya, he spent seven weeks at that spot in a series of contemplations.  First, he was reluctant to teach, fearing that people would not understand his message.  But, he was convinced by the gods Indra and Brahmā to share his discovery of truth.  Then, the texts tell us that the Buddha journeyed to the Deer Park at Isipatana, now known as Sarnath.  And there he turned the wheel of the Dharma for the group of 5 companions with whom he had previously practiced austerities.

With this knowledge, our school has given one day holiday and at 7p.m we had grand soltsog at lotter hall to commemorated lord Buddha’s teaching and our school dialectic master Mr.Sonam Tenphel  la gave brief introduction about this important day.  All the staff and student above class seven gathered in the hall for the prayer for the well-being of all the sentient beings.

14th Inter House Club tournament begin

On 2^ndAugust, 2019. At 4:30 p.m. T.C.V.Chauntra has celebrated the opening of soccer club. This year our school has 38 clubs having various names. All the clubs were divided among the four houses. First match was between Tsundue Rabsel club and Amay kering club.Amay kering club won the match. This soccer tournament club will continue till 27^thAugust,2019…
