THE KAGYUR and TENGYUR PROCESSION

The holiest of Saka Dawa is the full moon day, the 15th day of the month which is associated with Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and parinirvana. This year it fell on 17th June. Unlike last year this year the cultural committee of the school organized the Kagyur and Tengyur procession around Dzongsar Monastery. On this sacred day the students of class 7 to 10 carried the holy Kagyur scriptures on their shoulders and started the sacred procession from the school gate to Dzongsar Monastery chanting “Jangchup Semchok Rinpoche” They circumambulated the monastery with the holy scriptures. It was a holy march and everyone felt blessed.
